Knowing your own mind....

I am lying here in the sun... it's lovely and warm as it comes through the window...it's so nice that spring is here, and it warms my dodgy hip....

And while I am lying here, I am listening to the Archers' omnibus. Its all about them getting ready to take part in a sponsored event for Sport Relief. Thank goodness it's only a story, because it's all a bit macho...men competing with other men, proving who is the best. Pam and I getting involved in the 10k run is totally different: our first challenge is to get there. The next is just to get to the end: it's not the winning that matters, it's the taking part. Why is so much of our world about winning?  For the people of fAABI, and for the residents of Amarna House the challenge in life is often to take part, and feeling part of the world.

To do it, just to take part can take a significant degree of determination. I saw another icon of mine today... Angela Landsbury (of bobbing along, bobbing along on the bottom of the beautiful briney sea fame) back on the West End stage after 40 years at the age of 88.... Pam you are positively youthful compared to Angela.....

So folks when you get to a certain age you have to have a bit of grit.... you have to know your own mind.... you have to make up your own mind about what you are going to do and what you arent.... whatever anyone else says....you may not get another chance...

Below is a clip of Steve trying to put me into my crate.... I quite like my crate... don't tell him that... but I had a point to make....
